July

July 2nd Candi and I went on a hike on the Green Basin trail. We setup our hammock and relaxed a bit before heading back. No one else was on the trail destination. The next day was our ward July 4th breakfast. We did our fireworks at Scott's that night as the 4th was on a Sunday. Jody's family came and Wesley's too. His daughters are so cute. Sina, Talia's boyfriend was there too. He's a nice samoan kid that will be going on a mission soon. On the 4th we had a picnic lunch after church at Mum's grave.

July 6th was surgery day for Candi. She had enough of her period being painful so she wanted to get a hysterectomy. The surgery took longer than expected. She had scar tissue on her ovaries which also connected her womb to her abdomen walls which made it difficult. The doctor had to take an ovary out so she has one ovary. The doctor, which was a nice lady doctor, said one is good enough to provide hormones and such. She stayed in the Riverton hospital for 2 days. I visited her after the surgery and then picked her up when it was time to go. They couldn't do it through 2 small incisions, they had to open her tummy up so she had staples from her belly button going down about 8 inches. Her recovery time was about 6 weeks. For the first few days she couldn't move out of bed much. Some ward members and friends from kapahaka were nice enough to bring some dinner. After a week or so she could get up and down with out much difficulty.

On July 16th Candi, Leila, Erana and I took a drive to Deer Creek Reservoir as we'd never been before. The spot we chose had a rocky shoreline. Pineview is better. Candi just laid on a mat nearer the car. The girls went in the water for a bit. It was a nice sunny day. We drove into the Wallsburg area nearby just to take a look. It's a nice secluded valley with a small community along one main road. We went down it a few miles then turned back.

Leila went to FSY July 19 to 24. She had a good time she said and made lots of new friends that she wants to keep in touch with. It was at BYU Provo. While she was gone Candi, Erana and I stayed a couple days in Eden at the Worldmark Wolf Creek lodging. It was nice and clean and had a murphy bed for Erana in the lounge. She asked why are we staying the night here, isn't that wasting our money? We just wanted to get away for a couple days since Candi was cooped up in the house recovering from her surgery. We got snacks at the local grocery store. We went to Pineview twice. Erana and I had a good time at the beach while Candi laid out on a mat under the trees most of the time. We had our hammock setup too. Candi and I drove up the road to the top where Powder Mountain ski resort is and stopped at a couple places for pictures. It's beautiful up there.

July 25 was the baby blessing of Josie, Josh and Louisa's baby. She's cute. They had it at the Close to my Heart building dining room. She looks like Josh. Serina's boy looks like her. On July 30 we went to a Chinatown shopping mall and looked around a bit and bought snacks in a grocery store and ate them at a nearby park with Mina and Erana. On the 31st we went to Sophia Wolferstan's baptism. We ate at Chuck-A-Rama after.
