October - Leila's 10th Birthday

10/1 to 10/10:

Had our annual Halloween FHE at the Ashworth's. Watched the All Blacks beat Georgia Friday afternoon. Went to the Hiona dine & dance Friday night. We ate good food and danced some. Chatted with Uncle Jono and other Uncles and Aunties. Talked with Sandy Keehan, Terence's mum and also his brother Zack and wife. Got a photo and sent it to Terence. Found out he moved to Los Angeles this year. Leila had her first basketball game. She did really well but needs more practice. General Conference was this weekend. 3 new apostles were called to replace L Tom Perry, Boyd K Packer and Richard G Scott who all passed away this year. Stayed home and watched priesthood with Tyrell and Jaxon. Ate some yummy boil-up Candi made with kamo kamo in it. Thursday the 8th Candi and I went to help clean the conference center from 9pm to 11:30pm. She vacuumed while I moved the chords. I took my headphones to listen to music. Mina is playing volleyball for Taylorsville HS sophomores. She's pretty good. I try to see each home game. Her coach is a bit of an egg. He makes them run sprints and stuff if they do mistakes or don't stick around to watch the Juniors and Varsity teams.

10/11 to 10/17:
Had Columbus day off work. Can't remember what I did that week. I took Thursday off so only had a 2 day work week. Very nice! We went to Lava Hot Springs and stayed the night in the Tumbling Waters motel. Got us 2 rooms connected to each other. We went to the store for some food for breakfast for the morning then went to the pools and relaxed. After we hung out in the rooms and Candi got us Thai food for dinner. We went back to the pools at 9pm. Was very nice. The next day we checked out at 11am. We walked around the town again. Walked by the river and saw a big crawdad. Stopped for some ice cream and looked in a few stores. Jaxon saw a ninja like sword he wants for Christmas in the hippie like gift store. We went to the park to relax a little longer. We are going to visit Debbie & Matt Finlayson but waiting word for when to come over. Mina, Jaxon, Leila, Erana and I went on a little hike up the hill over-looking the town, took some photos and came back down. The we went to Soda Springs about 4pm. Went to Matts. Deb wasn't home yet. She got off work at 5:30pm. Was good to see them. Hadn't been here since 2001. Matt showed us his work shop he bought. It used to be a body repair shop. He build stuff in there. Has a big trailer he's been working on. The front part he has made a man cave. It has a tv room, office, a kitchen and bathroom area he is making nice. He took over to his parents and chatted with them for a bit. Talked about our genealogies. Mary showed me a book that Wallace Wihongi had given her that shows how many families are connected to the Wihongis including her Reihana family. Then we went back to eat dinner at Matt's. Deb was calling telling him to hurry up. Talked with them for a while catching up with everything. They have beautiful daughters. Their oldest daughter Alana was there with her baby. Ariana went on a date, Taeya and Leilani were there. Our kids had a good time getting to know them. We could have stayed the night but we left around 10pm. They want us to come back for Thanksgiving. Was very nice to visit them. Saturday we watched the All Blacks kill France 62-13 in the quarter-finals which was very satisfying.

10/15:

Erana had to recite 'There was an old Woman who lived in a shoe, she had so many children, she didn't know what to do, She gave them some broth without any bread, she scolded them soundly and sent them to bed'. Which she did awesomely!

10/18 to 10/24:

We went to Devin and Brennan's mission farewell. Vic and Kim's twins. Devin is going to Washington and Brennan to Kentucky. We ate at Kim's after and visited for a bit. Friday we watched Mina play volleyball then went to Golden China after with her and Erana. Mina does quite well and is getting better at volleyball. Saturday we watched the All Blacks beat South Africa in the semi-final 20-18. It was close but SA didn't deserve it. They kicked all their points. They try to force penalties instead of scoring tries. Candi went and watched Leila during the game play bball.

 10/25 to 10/31:
Wednesday the 28th Tyrell and Leila had their Piano recital, I couldn't go because I had to work, so I was sad I missed it. Mum, Jason and the kids went, they said they did an awesome job, they always do though. Leila turned 10 on Thursday. She invited about 10 friends to a party they had in the basement. They wore costumes, danced and ate. I was at worked so missed the fun. But when I got home we had cake and  watched her open our gifts. She is growing up fast. She is very smart and reads lots of books and is fun and loving. I love her so much. Mina went to Hawaii today. She used a buddy pass we bought off Shaun. She is staying a week or so with Christine. She was very excited to go. On Saturday morning it was the World cup final All Blacks vs Aussies. We went to Scott's and watched it. It was a good game. ABs got ahead then Aussie caught up to within 4 then Carter got a drop goal, then penalty to relieve the pressure then a try near the end to put it away. 34-17, first team to win back-to-back and to win 3 times. The last game for heaps of AB big names. Carter, McCaw, Conrad Smith, Nonu, Woodcock, Mealamu. The day is also Halloween so we went to Jody's about 5pm. It was a nice sunny day, not too cold. The kids got lots of lollies. Erana was Stitch, Leila was Raven from teen titans, Jaxon was the Red Hood.

September - Mina's 16th and Jason's 44th Birthdays

9/1 to 9/5:

Friday 4th I did my work's fantasy football draft from home. The site I had the best draft, we'll see if the game results are the same. Saturday we took Mina and her friend Julie to Joe's Crab Shack for her birthday. They got a steam pot of crab legs and stuff. I had a platter of fried fish and stuff. After we went and got a yogurt from yogurtland. I was stuffed.
9/6 to 9/12:
Monday was Labor day and Mina's birthday. I didn't have work. We had cake and ice cream. Mum and Scott and family came over. Mina is 16 and beautiful. Love her heaps. Growing up so fast. Friday we went and hiked to Donut Falls up Big Cottonwood canyon. Just the 3 younger kids came. It was fun. Jaxon, Leila and I climbed up the rocks to the water fall that goes through a hole in the rock. We took pictures and video and came back down. Weather was perfect for hiking. Candi and I went to Golden Corrall's for dinner. It was ok. Like the Chinese Gourmet better.

9/13 to 9/19:
Wiramina had her first home coming dance, the theme was 'Under the Sea' very original. We got the dress from the 'Stake Closet' and had to dry clean it for about $50.  Some guy she knew from Bennion jr. High asked her out, she said yes to be polite, he is a Samoan and younger than her. She looked like the Princess Ariel, she was beautiful!
This week Candi and I celebrated our 21st anniversary. We spent the night of the 17th at the Anniversary Inn in Logan in the Biker Roadhouse suite. First we had lunch at the Chinese Gourmet. Then checked in about 3:15pm. The Logan hotel has about 7 different buildings with rooms in them. It was a nice room. It has a motorcycle next to a gas pump, a pinball machine and a pool table as well as a jacuzzi. We had complimentary sodas and pop corn brought to our room and there was cheesecake and apple bubbly in the room waiting. We had a nice time playing pool, soaking in the tub and stuff. So glad to be married to my  wonderful, beautiful wife. She means the world to me. Love every moment. We have lots of fun together. We checked out about 12pm. Candi worked in the evening for 4 hours Friday.

9/20 to 9/26:

Sunday we went to Auntie Charmaine and Uncle Don's farewell. They are going to the NZ Temple visitors center mission like Uncle Geoff and Auntie Dolly did. After we ate at a park. Visited with cuzzies. In the morning the All Blacks had their first game of the World Cup beating Argentina. Is was close. The AB's were very rusty. Tyrell got his wisdom teeth pulled Monday. The anesthetic made him act very weird during his waking up stage. It lasted several hours. He would make funny noises and stuff. Jaxon got a kick out of videoing it. Candi and I went to the temple Fri morning. Saturday we ate dinner at the SL Burger company. It was ok.

9/27 to 9/30:
Sunday night was a Super 'blood' moon lunar eclipse. Won't be another until 2033. Monday FHE night Candi got Panda Express for the family while we watched a movie named Freetown about true story of LDS missionaries escaping a civil war in Liberia. Tuesday was my 44th birthday. Candi had to work and Mina was at volleyball. I opened some gifts and had ice cream about 9:30pm. Mina was home by then.

More September happenings:
Jaxon stayed home from school, cause he was sick. And Oma is keeping him company watching tv with him.
Youth Activity, watching the video of 'Trek' and having dinner.
And a combined ward youth mutual, going for a hike up in the mountains, and eating smores.

Erana sayings:

9/4/15
Erana told Jaxon she has 'secret undies' and Jaxon was like? huh? where? Erana lifts up her big hedgehog on her bed & shows Jaxon her 'secret undies' lol
9/5/15
Saturday, chore day, Erana wanted to dust the ceiling fan in the kitchen, but she wasn't around so Leila did it. She comes into the kitchen & says to me, "Mum you distracted me from my chore, I was suppose to dust the fan", lol I was amazed that she knew the word 'distracted', when she's only 5yrs old.
9/8/15
Erana lying in your spot (on bed) & she turns & says to me eww daddy's spot smells like fart pickles! Lol bahhaaahaa
9/22/15
My poo is sore like a period something like that. It's squishable
9/27/15
Erana: Mum did you know pokemons evolve into different pokemons!

August

8/1 to 8/8:

Sunday 2nd we went do Danny and Raina's church. Their daughter Addie was blessed. We ate after at his home. We visited with relatives and stuff. Started getting windy and a little rainy in the afternoon. Candi goes walking along the Jordan river walk way in the mornings. Tuesday she brought home a white rabbit she found. It is friendly and doesn't run away. We are keeping it and the kids love it. I wasn't too sure but seeing the its poos aren't big and wet but little round balls and dry and that it mostly pees in it's box area I think I'll be ok with it. As long as they clean often so nothing smells as well. They names it Oma Rapiti. Thursday night was the ward swim party at Taylorsville pool. I got in this time to take Erana down the slide a few times. She loved going fast and said it was awesome. Friday, 7th we took Jaxon to do his first temple baptisms. It was busy and had to wait a while. I got to do baptisms and confirmations for him. We had family names. We got him a shake after. Candi and I went to the Chinese gourmet buffet for a diner date. We love that place. It didn't help my efforts to try and lose a few lbs.

8/9 to 8/15:

Friday 14th we bought 2 mountain bikes from the Calvary thrift store for $45. They are in pretty good condition. I spent Saturday fixing them up a bit. Oiled them, adjusted handle bars and seats and gears. Fixed a flat tire. They run pretty well. Candi, Jaxon, Leila, Erana and I went on a bike ride from the Winchester park on the Jordan river to Willow pond. The kids ran through a water park area that sprays from the ground. Then we went back home. It was fun.

8/16 to 8/22:
Took the kids to get treats at the dollar store for FHE. They started school Wednesday. Jaxon is now in Bennion Junior High. He and Leila will no longer be in the same school together for the rest of their schooling which I thought was sad. He'll be in high school by the time she is in junior high and he'll be done when she is in high school. Just like Tyrell and Mina. Tyrell still hasn't found a job yet. Not sure how hard he is looking.Candi and I went to King buffet Friday then saw Mission Impossible for our date. I bought a bunch of plugs at Home Depot and started replacing old ones on Saturday.

8/23 to 8/31:
Erana started kindergarden this week. She goes half the day in the afternoon and rides the bus back. She enjoys it. She even has started wiping her own bum now. Took long enough. We told her she had to because the teacher won't do it for her at school. Erana is growing up too fast. We love her and all the kids so much. Candi and I went to Chinese Gourmet Friday and took Tyrell with us. Saturday we went to Sue Settle's funeral. She died of cancer. It was a nice service with lots of nice songs sung. Sunday after Stake Conference I ordained Tyrell to be an Elder. It was a special experience. Tyrone and his wife were there. Scott and Danny was there. Jody was running late so we did it without him and Shaun and Jared couldn't make it. I mentioned that a small number of God's children have the melchizedek priesthood and that where much is given much is required. That all that the Father has will be his if he honors his priesthood and magnifies his calling as mentioned in the oath and covenant of the priesthood.  To stay humble as he serves the Lord. He will have trials but will receive many witnesses that the Lord loves him as he endures them with faith in the Lord. And other things I can't quite recall. We had a feed after and did the fantasy football draft with those that showed up.

Erana sayings:
8/2/15
Candi said Erana has a big noggin compared to Gracie's when we saw their photo next to each other. Erana smiles and says, "That means I'm a scientist!" lol
8/24/15
Erana had her kindergarten test today, and Mrs Pond asked her what she wanted to be when she grows up and Erana says "An Exterminator"! lol We just laughed and Mrs. Pond said, "oh good, I need one of those".
