July

Scripture of the Month: D&C 137:6

"For I, the Lord, will judge all men according to their works, according to the desire of their hearts."

7/1 to 7/2:

Friday 7/1 we went to spend the day at Pineview. The lake level was high. We found a spot and had a nice relaxing day on the beach on a very hot day. Only Tyrell didn't come. We stopped and got cherries and raspberries on the way. On the way home we got thick shakes at the usual place.

7/3 to 7/9:

Mon, July 4th we had nothing planned but we were invited by Monica to go to her sister Claudia's home with her new rich husband in Midway. They have a nice home in a quiet place next to the Homestead golf course. The husband is very nice. We walked over to the Homestead to see where the place is that has a natural hot spring in a cave thing that is like a dome with a hole in the top like a volcano. They let people go scuba diving in it. Off in the near distance is another hill in Midway that they light fireworks from. The top of the dome has a nice view and we noticed people setting up chairs for it so Claudia decided to have everyone go back for the fireworks at 10pm. Before then we ate and lit our own fireworks. Jody lit one that shot off sideways again. It caught some weed bushes on fire in the yard but they rushed to put it out. Everyone was laughing but could have been dangerous. We watched the fireworks at 10pm from the dome hill. It was nice then we went home. I didn't work the next day Tuesday as I flexed. I worked Friday to cover for Forrest at work.

7/10 to 7/16:

Pokemon Go is all the Craze! tons of people at the park now walking around trying to catch Pokemon, kids found a phone and a charger left by people at the park!  Monday we were invited to a Bishopric dinner at Winchester park. They bbq'ed burgers and hotdogs for us. Candi brought a kale salad. Some other families were there from the ward like the Campbells, Foxes, Hauets. It was nice. Candi has been taking the kids swimming to 7 Peaks a lot since she got summer passes. They like it. They go with Heather and kids. I ordered folding chairs for the deck and a deck box that they will go in from Walmart. It will save space on or under the deck when it's time pack them away for the winter. I put the box together on Saturday. Wednesday Candi, Mina and Jaxon went to Snowbird for the youth activity. They had fun. I worked from home that day. Saturday we helped Scott move into their new home in the Murray Bluffs. It is one street over from our ward boundaries but the Stake President said they can still go to Brookshire ward. It's a nice big home with a nice big yard.

7/17 to 7/23:

Monday at 6:30pm we went to the Jets & Katina's concert at UVU. We sat next to Jackson Kaka and his wife Jaiden who I found out is the daughter of Eugene Ackermann. She's a cute girl. Jackson reffed a lot of the youth sevens games and is from Temple View. They have only been married for a month and a half. The concert was mean as. A lady named Fetai was first. She sang beautiful church songs. Junior Maile sang some country songs which was nice. I didn't expect country at a poly concert so that was refreshing. The Jets were next. They sang some of old and new songs. They were funny when they were going to do 'Crush on You' they started to stretch first. They had the crowd do a lot of 80's dance moves. The older brother was pulling off some of his locking and popping moves. Tyrell, Mina and Jaxon came. They enjoyed it. The Katina's were blimmin awesome as well. They are a Samoan family of brothers that were raised pentacostal so they sing a lot of christian songs that were really nice and had good messages. They also sang a few old school r&b songs and slow jams. But the messages they shared and the lyrics of having praise, thanks and trust in the Lord were uplifting. It was a very enjoyable night. We got home after 11pm. I took the next day off so I slept in. We went to 7 Peaks Provo with Jonah and Maya and met Heather and kids. It was a hot day. The water was warm. Had a nice time.

6/17: This girl getting Tyrells face cleanser stuck in her hair!!! Had to use the scissors and cut it out of her hair!

7/24 to 7/31:

Pioneer Day was Monday the 25th since the 24th was Sunday. We broke up our old couch and chucked it away since we bought new ones. We found nice brown leather ones on ksl and bought it and a seat and ottoman for $800. This guy was selling them and we picked them up in our van and Heather's van. We also went on a hike up Little cottonwood canyon on the little cottonwood trail. Went to the river and relaxed in the nice surroundings for a bit. Just Leila and Erana came. I also strengthened the deck box I got and water proofed the inside with caulking. We went on the roof to see if there were much fireworks at night. There were some not heaps.

June - Erana's 6th & Tyrell's 19th Birthdays

6/1 to 6/4:

Jaxon had rugby practice this week and rugby on Saturday morning. They lost to East and beat Hunter and Olympus. Netane and Helamani the Moleni kids are on Hunter this year. They were on my team last year. The games were down behind the Marv Jensen rec center on 104th south Redwood. Candi went to Jenni's baby shower at 11am so she didn't come. I had Leila with me. I took her to McDonalds between games. She didn't eat before hand. I was a hot day. Then I dropped Leila off at a friends party at 12:30pm.

6/5 to 6/11:

I took Monday off for Erana's birthday. We went to the Aquarium. Maya and Jonah came and Drey and Kage showed up a little later. It was the first time I had gone to it since it moved to a bigger building. It's a nice place. After we went and got Beyond Glaze donuts and KFC and ate at a park on the Jordan river just down the road from the Aquarium. We went home then later in the evening we had cake and presents for Erana. Our little Angel is growing up so fast. She's been such a joy in our lives. She enjoys playing with Maya. All the kids went to the dentist on Tuesday. Only Tyrell and Erana had to go back. I had to do Jaxon's rugby practice this week, Wed and Thurs. The coach, Andrew Buehner was gone. It's ok but I don't think I want to be coach next year. Friday we went on a hike to Mule Hollow in the after noon. Jaxon, Leila, Erana and Kage and Drey came. It was nice. It eventually had us follow in a stream so we turned back when it was too difficult for Erana. Saturday Jaxon's team won the first game against Olympus but lost to Genesis and Tooele in the final minute in each game when we were ahead at that point. Later we went to a surprise birthday for Wesley at Jenni's grandparents' home down Walker lane. It's a rich person's area with nice big homes and mansions in Cottonwood. On their property they have the main home, a cottage home, a separate big garage with rooms off the side. A pool with a big guest building with a fancy kitchen and sitting area and a changing shed. The party was in the pool area and kitchen building. The property is surrounded with trees. It was rainy which provided a nice ambiance. Reminded me of NZ. Wesley turned 23. Erana and Leila swam in the pool.

6/9: Erana to Jason, "Dad loves his grass more than us kids & Mum...... Dad loves his grass more than the whole family!" lol, I had her and Leila help me plant some grass seed to fill some gaps in the lawn.

6/12 to 6/18:

I went to the dentist Monday to get my crown on my bottom back left tooth. I left work early. They numbed me up so it wasn't so bad. I got a temporary tooth and will go back in 2 weeks for the permanent one. I ran Jaxon's practices again this week. Coach was out of town again. Thursday was our work's Summer party at Big Cottonwood park. We played volleyball and came 2nd. In the final we got wasted 1-21. Quite an embarrassing thrashing. I was a good time. Friday we went with the 2 younger kids to the Salt Lake by the Saltair. The lake was a long walk. When we got there it stunk and had lots of little flies. The girls splashed around a bit and found sea monkeys in the water. In the evening Jaxon and I went and saw the Warcraft movie. It was ok but had an unsatisfactory ending to it. Saturday Jaxon played 2 games, the first was forfeit. They won both and beat Genesis who they lost to last week. It was their best game of the season. They passed the ball around more than ever and tackled there hearts out.

6/19 to 6/25:

The kids got me breakfast in bed and a card for Father's Day. Tyrell made the food by himself I was told. It was yummy. Love my kids. They are the best. Candi worked in the night so she was sleeping. Thursday Candi and I went to see Independence Day 2. 20 years later the aliens attack again. It was pretty good. Friday we went to 7 Peaks SL. It was nice hot weather. Went down a couple slides and went in the wave pool. Candi got us all the season passes for 7 Peaks. They've gone a few times already. This was my second time. Saturday was the last weekend for rugby and was tournament time. They won the first 2 games against Olympus and East which put us in the semi-finals against West. But we lost to a good West team that had played together during the 15's season and won the 7 & 8 grade championship. They had Joe & Fao who played for me last year. So we dropped into the loser bracket to try to get 3rd place. We beat Genesis again then lost to Tooele in the 3rd place game so we came 4th. That's about right for our team. I think we are the 4th best out of about 10 or so teams. Jaox did really good. He scored his first 2 tries of the season. One time the other team kicked it and he was at the back and ran it all the way for a try. Another time against west he was first receiver from a ruck and the defense rushed up on the outside and he took it to the hole and almost made it all the way. He passed it off to a team mate but they caught him. It was an awesome play he did though. So proud of him. Candi was at the Taylorsville Dayz parade with Erana and Leila. The Tausala group walked in that. By the end Erana was tired and getting a cry face, lol. In the evening we went to the Taylorsville Dayz park. We got a spot on the grass in between the stage and the fireworks area. We walked around. Candi brought some food and a funnel cake to eat. We watched Abba-cadabra perform then watched the fireworks at 10pm. They were awesome. It was a long tiring day but fun.

6/26 to 6/30:

I got my new permanent crown put in Monday. Tuesday I worked from home. My boss is letting us work one day a week from home which is nice. Thursday I took the day off for Tyrell's birthday. I didn't really need to as we didn't do anything during the day. I need to use up some vacation time I have anyway. He was undecided about where we should take him to eat. He ended up going to 7 peaks with his friends. Candi and I went and ate at Chinese Gourmet. I love the fried fish there and clam chowder. We took the kids to the 6pm movies to see Tarzan. Tyrell called during the movie and said his boss at Pei Wei needs him at work so he went. I said you could tell him no because you already had the day off. But he went. Tarzan was ok but a bit cheesy and way hollywood. We waited for Tyrell to get home which was about 11pm and surprised him when he came in and turned on the lights. We had his cake and presents. Also I forgot to mention that Mina was at Stake Girls camp from Monday to Thursday at a place near Heber. Candi went up Tuesday to Thursday and came home with Mina. Candi said 2 nights was enough for her, but I think they had a good time.
