July

Saturday 1st - Went to Brookshire's 4th of July Breakfast at Winchester park. Wasn't as busy as the years past. But I did get to see the Sakamoto's, they had moved out of our ward and it was sad to see them go, I love them so much:(  Well we had the usual eggs, bacon, pancakes, watermelon and drinks. We also got to go look at Mar's from the Astrologist group that were at the park too.

We had a Hiona show today in Sandy for the 30th Tongan Wards Anniversary. It was huge, not sure why us Maori's got asked to perform lol Anyways lots of Tongans were there doing their thang.  Our show was good I think, the poi was new. Sheris tried to teach us the new poi her original way but some of the moves were to difficult and she had to change it. But I liked her original version better, Leila practiced it once and could do it lol

Wednesday 5th - Saturday 8th Girls had Stake Girls Camp in Heber. Jason got to go Thursday and stay there and help and then bring the girls back home.

The day the girls got back from Girls Camp we had a show with Hiona. The show was for Maioha's ward, thanking them for using their chapel to practice. It was a Luau, we had an awesome fun show and then ate their yummy food.

Leila lost her glasses on this day too.... she was positive she brought them home from girls camp and she couldn't remember if she had them at the show.

Her and I had eye appointments and got new glasses practically the same. Just the bands were different colors. She is now for sure my mini me lol

Friday 14th - We had a Hiona get together celebrating Matariki. We had yummy food and Karaoke and Pickle Ball at someone's chapel. I was in charge of the Karaoke again lol

Saturday 15th - I had signed the girls and I up to be hosts at the 'Old Tabernacle Exhibit'. It was in Taylorsville, but it also moves around to different venues. When we got their we were trained a tiny bit. We also knew what it was about because we came the Wednesday before and took the tour. It was so hot on that day and all the outside stuff was way hot and dry. I was glad that the girls and I were inside the chapel and didn't have to be hot outside. Especially the Ark of the Covenant room, that was like a sauna room. The Exhibit was cool though a replica of how the Tabernacle was in the Old Testament times. I sat outside the gym doors welcoming guests to go in and follow the blue arrows. The girls were inside at the Priests Clothing, they were given a card to read about it, and they could bear their testimony if they wanted to.

Tuesday 18th - We had another Hiona Show, this time for Jenni Atkinson's Relief Society. It was kinda like Maioha's show and we ate yummy food afterwards.

Went to practice with our Tausala Aiga for the Samoan Heritage Festival and we had a feed. The crew from Arizona was down to perform with us. My noodles didn't turn out the way that I wanted, so I went and bought water and watermelon. It was a good practice at Nive's chapel. Aunty Fina was there she looked good.

Thursday 20th & Friday 21st - Samoan Heritage Festival! The girls performed Thursday evening with Tausala younglings and then Leila performed Friday again.  Jason came to both shows, we got Samoan doughnuts and Otai both days. Cameron from Hiona was the MC and he also sang, he was awesome! Thursday show Leila had wardrobe malfunctions with her red pareo but we learn from this, yup looked like a g-string lol But the girls were awesome, Leila was on fire both nights!!

Saturday 22nd - Tuesday 25th - Went on a little trip with our babies to Red Canyon, out Vernal way near Flaming Gorge. On the way there we stopped at our usual stops that we had done years ago with Tyrell, Mina and Jaxon. We ate a Chinese Buffet, it was good enough. I love Chinese food! We stayed the night at a cheap hotel in Vernal. Sunday we woke up to have the free hotel breaky. I had toast with pb and banana, a boiled egg and juice. Talked with some people that were from overseas. We went to church at 10am to the nearest ward in Vernal, it was nice.

Saturday 29th - Meg Ballards Wedding. Girls and I went to the wedding in Draper. I was telling the girls they wearing black and dark colors they should be wearing bright summer colors. And when we got to the wedding the bridesmaids and family were in black, so Erana who was wearing black fit in with them lol  They had an ice-cream bar and lemonade. We sat with other church members and I gave Bro and Sis Ballard (The grandparents who were in our ward when we moved in) a big hug. Meg and her hubby did an old fashioned waltz dance.

Sunday 30th - Our Primary Presidency talked in Sacrament. My topic was to find an attribute my Primary kids have and talk about it. I chose 'Obedience'.  Tiffany spoke first I think she chose 'love' and she mentioned the Primary kids in her talk and then Debbie spoke next and I think she chose 'kindness' cause she used the kindness chain. I was a little flustered cause I didn't have anything about my kids, only in the beginning when I mentioned that they are 'Obedient' lol Anyways we all gave awesome talks, I could've done better I think, but I was nervous. I gave experiences from my life and family.

Yay School is done and now we can enjoy summer. But we having some weird rainy weather.  Jeremy Fox is doing our siding on the back of our home and Joe our neighbor too helps him. Jason also goes and helps with what he can.

Saturday 10th, Uncle Errol Palmers 80th Birthday Celebration. Was so nice to mingle with all the Uncle and Aunties, cousins and relations visiting from New Zealand. The food was yummy, poly food with poke, guava cake etc. I took a lot of photos. The NZ relations did a few NZ numbers. I gave Uncle Errol a Pounamu I bought from Cher. All us Wihongi Siblings contributed to it. It was a nice get together.

Saturday 17th, Tama Wihongi Wedding. Tama and Annalise reception was in Sandy at Le'Jardin.  Le'Jardin is next to the cemetary. It was like a garden greenhouse venue. We were considering this for Mina & Tane's wedding but it was too small. We greeted the cute couple (pakeha girl) we had photos with them.  Everything was beautiful, they had tacos I think lol Well I had it salad style. Guys did the haka, was a bit cringey lol. And aftewards we had lots of fun dancing with the girls.

Wednesday 20th, girls did Temple Baptisms. And Leila had a Tausala Show.

Friday 23rd, Taylorsville Dayzz! We got our spot on the lawn, a little closer to the stage this time, not near a tree. Scott, Heather, Dray and the wedlings came. We got food, this time I bought different kinds of foods, like a hot dog, pita wrap etc. I also bought the girls a dress each from the store I bought a dress at last year. Saw some of my students, Finn gave me a hug. The Beach Boys were ok, and the fireworks were cool. Jaxon came late with Kesiah and her siblings sat away from us lol Needed to bring more blankets.

Sunday 25th Kage was Ordained an Elder.

Tuesday 27th, Barney's Birthday. Baby got her braces off! Now she can bite into an apple lol

Friday 30th was Tyrells 26th Birthday! We shouted him and Alisa and the girls out to eat at the new Hot Pot place called 'KPot Korean and BBQ'. It was expensive but the food was interesting and yummy and the sides were good. But I think I like the Sandy one better lol
