October - Leila's 14th Birthday

10/6/19

Hello Mina,
We had a meeting after Sacrament Meeting and it was for the new program I’m guessing? Yeah, so that was fun. I got Dad Chewy Spree candy, 4 honey sticks that were the flavors of root beer, vanilla, pink lemonade, and california orange, and spearmint flavored mints that last for 3 hours. Uncle Scott’s family came over for dessert. Mom, Erana and I went to Walmart on Monday. Erana and I had piano lessons on Tuesday, and we went to see Abominable at Regal and Mom got us chicken tenders, fries, and a drink to eat during the movie. Misty and Ben Ferguson took me to a play on Wednesday. It was Phantom, and it was really weird. Erana and I had our piano recital, and I was really nervous because when I practiced with Vicky’s granddaughter, I kept on messing up because her singing was kind of confusing me. So I said a prayer before I went on, and I only messed up a teenie weenie little bit that no one could ever notice. Erana and I biked to the Ferguson’s on Thursday to give them a thank you card. I went to clean the Edger’s house right after. Mom got Erana and I McDonald’s after Tausala practice. We went to the Kapa Haka Dine and Dance party and we met Mom’s cousin and his wife. Yesterday, we watched general conference and then Aunty Heather picked Jaxon, Erana, and I up to go to the chilli cook-off at Aunty Tania’s. Max the boxer dog died 3 weeks ago and Cynthia is pregnant again. I hope you have a great week, stay safe! I LOVE YOU!!!

Hi Mina,
I think I forgot to send the email last week, sorry. Only Leila wrote. It was my 48th b-day as you know. I got a card and some goodies like ginger beer, chocolate, a tie and chips and stuff. We had my favorite chuck roast and veggies. The day before we also went out as a family to the Pie pizzeria. We had the Kapa Haka group dine and dance again on Friday. Auntie Liz and Uncle OJ were there also the Wolferstans and a lot of others. Mum’s cousin Eden Dehar and his wife came into town from Perth, Aus. He is from Hastings and his wife is from Temple View. I knew her family and cousins. She’s an Elkington. Mum spent a day with them. I put up some wood paneling in our room to give it a change. It looks nice. Conference was good. A lot of messages about trusting in the Lord and walking the covenant path. I know as we do that we are blessed, are happier and can overcome obstacles and get through trials. We love you, the Lord loves you. Keep up your faith and hard work, we’re so very proud of you.

Kia Ora Mina, 

I had Jblue training last Monday it was alright probably won’t remember anything though lol. Leila got her braces off, and her teeth look nice. Your cousin Oaklie got married on Wednesday her grandparents are Aunty Dolly and Uncle Geoff, we didn’t go. Gracie and Maya slept over friday and saturday, they call themselves the 3 Amigos lol. Saturday morning went and helped at the ward service project and that’s how I got really bad allergies. I’m now going to sleep because I took some medication that made me sleepy lol. Read your email glad to hear your doing well keep up the good work! love you so much!

Hello Mina,

We watched the first half of general conference at home and then we went to Uncle Scott’s for the second half. I played with cousins and we ate yummy food. We went to Grandma’s grave after conference and Jaxon played his bagpipes. Your guests came over for dinner while Erana and I were at the Halloween party. We had popcorn, hotdogs, nachos, cookies, and eclairs. I got a monkey balloon that’s green. I got my braces off on Tuesday. It feels like my teeth are marshmallows to my inner lips. Erana and I had piano lessons. I finished my personal progress on Wednesday. We made fleece blankets for YW. Erana and I had Tausala practice on Thursday, and Mom got me Arctic Circle afterwards. I went with Mom and Dad to the temple on Friday and I did temple baptisms. We got Carl’s Jr. for breakfast. Jamie and Gracie came before I went with Kage’s family to the Alpine Loop. I slept over at Kage’s. Yesterday, Mom and Dad picked me up so we could go do the ward service that was at a neighbor’s house. We did a lot of yard work. I played at the park with Erana, Gracie, and Maya and we made a fort in the reading nook and slept in it. I received my Young Women Medallion, Recognition Certificate, and ribbons today! Hello Mina,

We watched Godzilla: King of The Monsters and an hour of Avatar for our family movie on Sunday. I went to the ortho on Monday to receive my retainer. Dad, Mom, Erana and I went on a hike. I went to clean Joelle’s (I got another job), and when I came home, Jenna (our neighbor) asked if I could look after her dogs every day, so I got myself another job, so now I have 3 jobs. Erana and I had piano lessons on Tuesday. For YW, we planned stuff for YWIE and then we played a friendship game. Erana and I had Tausala practice on Thursday. Mom took Erana and I to try In-N-Out on Friday, it was alright. Then we went to Target. Yesterday, Jaxon, Erana and I played at Kage’s house. The youth sang Keep the Commandments in Sacrament meeting today. We went to Uncle Ollie’s house today to have dinner and met the Gudgeon family. I hope you have a great week, stay safe! Hi Mina,

Sorry for sending the emails late. Yesterday we had Sunday dinner at the Wolferstans and the Gudgeons also came over. Duane Gudgeon is an old mate from my high school days. He used to live here but has lived in NZ for most of the last 9 years. But now he moved back for probably one year so his daughter can do her last year of high school here. He has another daughter in the Wellington mission. They said Duane’s brother Tapua was the ward mission leader in the Pukete ward. Sam Ballard from our ward transferred to Flaxmere, Hastings so he is in Mum’s old stomping grounds. Monday I had the day off for Columbus day. We took the 2 girls on a hike with us up Big Cottonwood canyon. It was the Green Basin trail that starts in the Spruce campground. It took us to a meadow in the Mountain where we stopped and sat and laid in the sun for a bit before hiking back down. It was nice and peaceful. I finished fixing up the shed in the garage, it looks nice now. Leila made flyers that asked if anyone needed help with cleaning, pet sitting, car washing so she could earn money. She got 3 jobs with people in our condos. I’m glad she is showing some initiative and actually setting goals and going after them. I think you have been a good example of that to her. Now if only the boys could show the same kind of initiative. But they have their own talents so I’m proud of them in different ways. Keep doing your best and staying strong with your trust in the Lord during good and discouraging times.

Weathers jumped right into winter dunno what happened to fall blimmin coldaz!!! Snowed Sunday!!! Leila had a fun surprising bball game Saturday of course I was yelling and Dad was shushing me! lol Anyway they won, when I thought they were gonna get wasted. 

Jazlyn Masina is getting married, which is kinda bummed because I wanted Tyrell to marry her but oh we’ll keep on praying!!🙏🙏🙏 Dad has been an awesome handyman/Bob the builder around the house. Went and watched Taylor Woods football game Friday. Dad and I felt bad for the other team cause the Cowboys were wasting them. After Uncle Brent cooked us steaks. And that's about it love you and keep up the good work!

Hello Mina,

Mom and I went to Tausala’s seamstress so she can get the measurements to make a Tausala dress that I don’t have. Erana and I went to Jenna’s (our neighbor’s) house on Tuesday to check on her dogs after we had piano lessons. I went to clean Joelle’s house on the same day. We finished watching the rest of Avatar. Erana and I checked on the dogs on Wednesday, then I went to YW. We planned activities for next year and did more YWIE stuff. We had cheese, crackers, and pretzels. Erana and I had Tausala practice later on after we checked on the dogs. Mom, Erana, and I went to Costco on Friday. Then we went to Aunty Tania’s to watch Taylor’s football game. Yesterday, I had my basketball game and we one. But, I wasted all my energy on the first quarter, such a disappointment. I didn’t keep track of how many points I made, neither did Mom and Dad, so I’m guessing 8-10 points. Mom took me to Target and Ross for birthday shopping. Then Dad, Mom and I ate dinner at Denny’s. Each girl in my class at church had to give a 5 minute lesson on what youth are facing today, and I did my lesson on peer pressure. We watched Men In Black: International for our family movie today. I didn’t really do much this week and I wasn’t writing to you a lot because I’m lazy so I’ll tell you the stuff I didn’t tell you the past few weeks.  AAAA….  So I don’t really remember much what I do remember though hmmm…  I know that Gracie and Maya slept over through a friday Saturday and then they left on a Sunday.  Leila and I went to Kage and Drays house on the day of the week I don’t remember.  Leila had a basketball game they won and Mom and Dad took Leila out to eat and I am watching “Pokemon Sun and Moon”. September - Mina's 20th, Dad's 48th Birthdays

9/1/19

Hi Mina,
Been a busy week, work busy because of the Hurricane that’s hitting the east coast a lot of flt delays and cancellations, due to Dorian! Then I took Jaxon to take his driving test and he passed, so now he has a full drivers licence but he can’t drive his friends, but he has been bringing Jess home from school, so yup he’s breaking the law. Leila had Tausala practice 3x this week with the advance group, she is so small compared to everyone else.  Erana had a break this week from tausala/tahitian.
Went to Pineview again it is so nice there, we just lay on the sand and get a tan and girls swim and we eat! lol The scenery and weather is wonderful. Leila had her BBall party friday night, she said it was boring because they just played video games! lol Kage and Dray slept  over.
Saturday Dad was very busy, reconstructing the garage I kinda helped. I also went and got your card from the macu and also the Kia needs to be fixed because it had to be jump started twice, once by Dad and then by some kind mexicans at Lowes.
Leila performed at the Polynesian Days at ThanksGiving Point with the advanced group she did awesome. Only Kage, Leila and I went we had some yummy Otai, curried lamb and fish n chips.
Sunday Uncle Jody, Josh, Jonah and Maya came over to do their fantasy football the rest of the fams did it online. We had yummy dessert, Aunty Heather and the boys came over also.
Uncle Scott has the shingles he is very sick and stayed home, he got an infection from his retainer that he bought online to make his teeth straight and it was cutting into his gums and got an infection and then he got the ‘shingles’. His face was swollen.
Exciting news from for Uncle Jared he’s meeting with some executive producers from CA and they might be offering him a job to be in movies and to also set up security for them as well. And they maybe getting him a house in Malibu and paying him .....One Million dollars a year!!! WHOAH!!! lol  Anyways they will be moving asap but Talia will stay with Uncle Scott to finish her semester? But will see this is a maybe not yet met with them yet! lol  hahaha

Life is still boring. I quit my job, right now i’m looking for another. Haven’t been on any dates yet since last one I told you about. School is going well, just taking English at school and math online. Spent the weekend up in Idaho with my best buddies and their wives haha. It was a lot of fun! We went paddleboarding, played Star Wars D&D, campfire at the sand dunes, and other fun stuff. I’ve been going to a few Real Estate events with Tyler and might be thinking about going into that. Today we had a yummy dinner and I had a nice time at church.  Uncle Jody, Josh, Jonah, and Maya are coming over because Uncle Jody and Josh are coming to do fantasy football but I think they mostly wanted dessert. Before we had dinner when we got back from church, Jaxon tried to imitate Mom but instead he sounded like Pops from regular show and then he started to do a weird laugh and he said that he sounded like the surfer fish dude from SpongeBob SquarePants XD.

Hello Mina,
Erana and I had a Tausala show at the same place downtown with the Hiona group two weeks ago. It was an hour long as well, but we finished 15 minutes early. Erana and I had piano lessons on Tuesday, and I went to Tausala Advanced Team practice that’s really close, only 7 minutes away by Top Golf. I went to Tausala Advanced Team practice again on Wednesday. I had Mcdonald’s at Walmart after Tausala Advanced Team practice on Thursday. Dad, Mom, Tyrell, Erana, and I went to the lake on Friday. We got ice cream at the same place again when we left. I got picked up by Aunty Heather straight after we got home to go to Kage and I’s basketball party. We ate at Smash Burgers and then played Super Smash Bros. and NBA 2K19 at our coach Will’s home. He has a wife and 2 dogs, a german shepherd and a border collie. His dogs are fat. Kage and Dray slept over at our house. Yesterday, Kage and Dray played and then left so Kage could have a shower and then came back, not Dray though. Kage came with Mom and I to my performance with the Advanced Team at Polynesian Days. We had fish’n’chips and Mom had curry stuff. I hope you have a great week, stay safe! I LOVE YOU!!!

Not much happened this week. We have no school on Monday so that’s nice. I got my drivers license finally on Wednesday. School is alright lol. Mr. Labrum takes 40 minutes just to answer one question in our notes. That’s basically everything that happened this week, hope you have a week as interesting as mine lol.

Hi Mina,

Sorry this went out a day late. Last week I had Labor day off on Monday. I just worked on doing things in the garage shed then did more on Friday and Saturday. Been working on it for a couple weekends now. I cleaned things out and added pegboard walls and painted a little. It’s totally different. I wanted to make it a space to put my tools. It now has a gate to lock it up too. I added other shelves against the walls in front of where the cars park on each side of the garage. We had our first thunderstorm in quite a while. July and August was pretty hot and dry. It went right past our house as a few of thunder made me jump when I was working in the shed, it was so close and loud. Happy 20th birthday, man those years went by so fast. You’re still our little princess. We’re very proud of you. Keep up the good work, the people in NZ need the gospel.

Hello Mina,

Uncle Jody, Josh, Jonah, and Maya came for fantasy football. Aunty Heather, Kage, and Dray came later on. Kage, Jonah, Dray, and Maya slept over and it was fun. I had Tausala practice early at 10am on Monday for the show that was at 630pm at ThanksGiving Point again. After practice, the cousins and I played at Kage’s house. Jonah and Maya came to the show but didn’t get to see me because I was in the last number and they got picked up from Uncle Jody. I saw Lafiana and Leeaine (I don’t know how to spell his name). Mom got me rice with chicken, macaroni, pulled pork, and an otai. Erana and I had piano lessons on Tuesday. We did our class activities for Young Women on Wednesday, so for the Mia Maids, we made first aid kits. Erana and I had Tausala on Thursday, and we went to KFC after for the lake on Friday. We didn’t go to the lake on Friday because it was cloudy and sprinkley. Instead, Erana, Mom, and I went to Walmart to try and look for things for our Halloween costumes. Hello Mina,

We watched Star Wars: Episode ll - Attack of the Clones for our family movie on Sunday. Dad, Erana, and I played basketball and soccer at the park. Erana and I had piano lessons on Tuesday. We went to Uncle Jared’s birthday party on Wednesday and Ariki kept showing me all his stuff. YW was with the whole stake for the Trek reunion. We had cobbler and ice cream. Mom, Erana, and I went to the State Fair and I went on the giant slide. We had ice cream cones, strawberry lemonade, watermelon lemonade, turkey leg, and fried oreos. We watched the circus, watched a comedian magician, looked at animals, and watched a dog show. Erana and I had Tausala practice, and there’s a new girl in my advanced class who is pretty, skinny, LDS, graduated from BYU Hawaii, and 22! I’m following her on instagram and I didn’t see a ring or if she is dating anyone, so I’m going to try to set her up with Tyrell. We went to the lake on Friday and got ice cream at the ice cream place. Yesterday, Erana and I played at Kage’s house and Mom and Dad left to the airport for Orlando. Hello egg,

Nothing much really happened this week. We went to Uncle Jared’s for his birthday on Wednesday. Then after that, me and Leila had to go to a trek reunited thingy thing for mutual. I slept over at Jess’s house with Ceedrek. It was pretty gnarly, I had a 367,000 scoville hot sauce again and I was dying. And when I pooped, my butthole was on fire. Hello Mina,

We watched Hot Rod for our family movie. Erana and I had piano lessons and we played at Kage’s house on Tuesday. For Young Women’s on Wednesday, we were combined with the Young Men in doing Food Bank stuff. Erana and I had Tausala on Thursday. Mom and Dad came home on Friday, and they got us socks. My socks are Chip & Dale. Mom also got Erana and I a teddy. Yesterday, Erana and I played at Kage’s house and then we went to the chili cookoff at the stake center with mom and dad. Hi Mina,

Our trip was a lot of fun and a lot of walking. I probably needed another down day between our walking days as our feet and legs we're tired by the end of each day except Discovery Cove day. We had changed our Discovery Cove day from Sunday to Tuesday because it looked like Sunday would rain a lot, which was good because Tuesday was the sunniest day of the week. So Sunday we didn’t do much, checked in early to our Hotel after eating brunch at a restaurant nearby named Bob Evans. We had a nap then went to Walmart and bought a few things like snacks. Monday was Disney Epcot, Tues was Discovery Cove, Wed was Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, Thurs was Disney Animal Kingdom, Fri was Sea World then flew home in the evening. Discovery Cove was probably our favorite, it was awesome snorkeling with the fishes and relaxing in the lazy river. We hope to take the family there one day. The other parks were great too but tiring and I got motion sickness on a few rides. We loved the settings they created for Harry Potter, Avatar and others. We took an Uber to most places. Ended up paying $165 worth of Uber trips (that includes the tips I gave). Probably still cheaper than renting a car and paying for parking. I’m glad the work is going well for you. I got a new calling as the executive secretary. I’m not super excited about it and there goes my Sunday mornings for the next few years but hopefully I can get used to it and trust in the Lord just like you have to do on your mission. Keep working hard, the gospel is true.

Hello Mina,

It was Erana’s primary program on Sunday and she did a good job. We watched a few videos from mom and dad’s vacation for our family movie. Erana and I had piano lessons on Tuesday. I got a new job to clean the Edger’s house once a week and I went over there on Wednesday. For YW, we prepared for general conference and then we played a memory matching game. Erana and I had Tausala on Thursday. Advanced class is learning a new dance. I played at Kage’s house on Friday, Erana came along later on. Yesterday, Mom, Aunty Heather, Erana and I went to Aunty Dolly’s granddaughter's bridal shower. We went out to dinner at Pie Pizzeria for Dad’s birthday family dinner. After we got home, Mom, Jaxon and I went to Walmart, Ross, and Harmon’s. I got dad some birthday presents while we were there. I hope you have a great week, stay safe! I LOVE YOU!!!
