Spring Break Vacation Day 1

(All the journal entries of our vacation were written after we got back but will enter them into the blog on the days they occurred)

On Sunday 31st went to Api's farewell. He is going to serve a mission in Japan. Api's talk was interesting because he has alot of Sreeve's mannerisms - funny.

Then straight after we packed up our van & traveled to Vegas!! Wahoo for Spring Break. We stopped in St George for gas & a picnic lunch at a park where they had nasty grass with bugs in it & Jay got a rash on his arms & legs cause he lay on it.

We arrived at our destination in the afternoon around 4pm. Went to Circus Circus and waited in Registration for ages - really long lines, eek crowded. We had a room outside by the pool, that was good. We relaxed a little & then went for a walk & look-about in Circus Circus. It was Easter Sunday & the kids were given their easter treats before we left for the ride. They were in their NZ sports B/packs. In the hotel room the kids opened eggs that told the Easter story of Christ & they took turns reading.

March Rugby

Erana the other day went around to Tyrell, Mina & I saying "Mum wants you". To me she said "Mum, Mina wants you". I found out later when Tyrell came to me & said "Whaat??" & I said "I didn't call you!" And then when I asked Mina what she wanted she said "Nothing" & I said to her baby told me you wanted me. - & then we discovered what baby was doing.

Tyrell's rugby started, he played his first game on Saturday 16th, he did awesome, but someone tackled him around his head or mouth & his braces cut up his mouth. We have been having difficult times with him & his school work. We decided no computer games & games during the week.

Things have been going well just a little fuss with Tyrell & his school work. He needs to hand in work on time. On Sunday 24th went to Moni's for Josh's ordination. Had a nice time. Tyrell & Leila's piano is going well.

Saofai's Funeral

Some happenings since last we wrote. Feb 23rd Auntie Luana went to the temple and got her endowments for the first time. Candi and I went through the session with them at the Jordan River temple. There was Auntie Raihi & Uncle Craig, Charmaine & Uncle Don, Uncle Errol & wife, Sreeve & Ryan, Kim & Viv Lesh. That was a happy occassion.

On a sadder note, Dana's husband Saofai "Smurf" died in a work accident. His company was demolishing an old K-mart when the roof collapsed and killed him. They have 3 kids Kenna 13, Kenlee 8 and Kylee 3. Very sad. We visited her. Auntie Dolly & Uncle Geoff came back from their mission in NZ for a couple weeks. We went to the funeral March 8th. A couple years ago Auntie told Dana to increase her life insurance so they did to 500,000. So at least she'll be ok financially for now. The weekend before we went to Conner's baptism in Tooele.

March

Today is Wednesday & the girls had Tahitian. Erana likes to dance with the girls. Near the end I said to Erana, "Let's put your shoes & socks on" and she would say, "No I'm dancing" 2x. While we were leaving we were in a hurry to go because Mina had mutual. And I couldn't carry baby because I was having tummy pains. So I told Mina to grab her & hurry. Well baby didn't want to be picked up & she was crying & hitting Mina in the face. Mina & I were saying stop it or stop being naughty. I then took & dropped Mina off. When Mina came home from Mutual she told us that Erana said to her "I was crying, I hit, I sorry".

Candi's 38th Birthday

Tyrell & Leila have started piano with a new piano teacher, her name is Vicky Wood (related to Brent Wood). Her husband's name is Roger. They are an old couple living by themselves. They live near Tyler Breinholt. Leila thought her first piano lesson was boring & didn't want to go anymore-well too bad. Tyrell is good with the piano. His driving is scary & he doesn't like it when I scream or tell him what he did wrong.

Erana has been sick for abt 2 wks now. She has sores in her mouth - beginning of cold sores. All the kids had it & now she can have cold sores now. Mina gets them all the time. She is driving me nuts though crying alot & wants me to hold her all the time.

Tyrell has started rugby again, he wanted to. He works out alot - got muscles. Leila says its because pretty girls will love him.

Leila to Talia, "WTH why does your mother always look pretty, we're not going to a party." Lol, we were going to Tahitian.

For my Birthday Jay surprised me!! Well we ate at Fortune Buffet with the kids & then he said we have a date at 4pm. He had me cover my eyes with my hat so I couldn't see. I was guessing we were going to the movies. Nek minit - I was running up some stairs into a hotel room, lol - he surprised me by us staying the night at the Castle Creek Inn. We had the 'Ivanhoe' suite, it was an upgrade. Had a hot tub, shower, fireplace. Very nice. We were allowed free snacks - brownies, pop corn & drinks. We had a very enjoyable night. I was a tad worried abt Erana though coz she was still sick. But Jay said that's why he got a hotel 5 mins away - true. I love him sooo much. It was the best Bday gift ever-actually all his gifts are!!

Jaxon's 10th Birthday

Jaxon's 10th birthday was  Monday, Jan 28th. We went to Hollywood Connection. I went straight from work an hour early and met them there. Jaxon invited 2 friends Zion and Hunter. We did bumper cars, rides, skating, mini-golf and the kids played games with tokens. At 6pm we had a birthday room where we had pizza and cake and Jaxon opened his gifts. They had fun and we left around 8pm. Tyrell got big blisters on both feet from roller blading too much. Jaxon couldn't skate very well but he tried. Leila could only do it holding onto a walker-on-wheels that they rent out to kids.

This has been one of the coldest winters in recent memory. We had some snow storms last week. Can't wait for spring. It got back up to 41 degrees the other day and it felt warm. Erana is so cute and is potty trained now. She's growing up so fast.

Yesterday fast and testimony meeting was cut short because we could smell a smokey smell and someone found a fire in the furnace room. We evacuated the church and went home. I had a nap until we went to the Keehan's to watch the Super Bowl, 49ers vs Ravens. Ravens won 34-31. They are still in Heather's parent's home while they are on their mission in Nauvoo. Erana broke a glass cup while we were there. We left close to 9pm. Tyrell got his drivers learner permit today by passing the test at the DMV. I need to take him out driving more. He needs more  practice.

January Stuff

Sunday 13th we had the Keehans over for dinner. I made pork roast, mashed potatoes, steamed veges. Heather brought a yummy salad and chocolate cheese cake. We watched our home made family movies with them - they thought it was funny. Then we played "zombies" in the dark in the basement - it was sooo funny - Kate didn't want to go home. We love being with them they are like us.

The girls started Tahitian again but it starts at 6pm & I have to hurry & drop Mina off at YW/Mutual which starts at 7pm.

Martin Luther King day was on Monday 21st - so we had a long weekend. Kids had early day Thursday 17th. Tyrell hung out alot at Tyler's - he had a pow wow on Saturday (for merit badges).

Talia stayed Friday night. Also had Activity Days on Friday at 4:30pm. We had our 'Pizza Planning' Day and planned activities for the whole year. I bought 3 pizzas from Papa Murphys, cheese, pepperoni & sausage. Everyone came except Annalee & Lillian.

Jaxon played alot with Zion. He also got in trouble alot & got punished.

Monday 21st Jay was a Super 'Handyman' & remodelled our sauna room, took out one side of the bench. Put up shelves & hooks. It looked awesome. I love it when he is sooo busy & I'm lazy lol.

We also put undies on baby this weekend & she did an awesome job. Now she goes on her own without being told. She unravelled the toilet paper. She needs help wiping. But she is growing up too fast for us -Love her!!

Tyrell play fights alot with Jaxon. Jaxon loves it. Tyrell has been weight lifting alot & he is stronger than me. Leila says funny things like "Girls will like Tyrell because he's strong."
