September 2nd - Polynesian Days, Leila had signed up for the 'Tahitian Amateur Solo' contest. Leila, Erana and I went to early in the morning at 9am to register..... of course it started like an hour late, ugh! We didn't need to rush. I had made Leila's costume the night before, it was just black with feathers and a wooden maori carving. She had feathers and raffia in her hair, I wish I had put some of her hair up though, I think it would've looked better. Anyway's it was a looong day, Mina and Tane came and watched. We got yummy food, doughnuts, Korean chicken, musubi's, Jennys Otai etc. Walked around and looked at the booth's, Haven Barlow had her face painting booth there. Leila did awesome and she got 3rd Place again, she was happy about it. She got a trophy and pareo. I then left Leila there to hang with her friend Aria and Jaxon will bring her home.
Monday September 4th, Labour Day. We went and helped Joshua and Louisa move into their new home. It was really close to Electric Park where they are having Polynesian Days. I wish I knew because we were going there again to help with some Maori performances for Sheri's and Hayden. Joshua has a really nice home with a nice yard. The girls stayed to help while I went home to get our clothes and stuff for our Maori show. I then picked up the girls and we went to Polynesian Days again. But it was messed up and we didn't have to perform at 1pm anymore and so the girls and I walked around and ate some yummy food and Otai again. Then just as we were leaving we were asked to perform we were asked to help with a powhiri for the Mayor just before the concert starts. I had bought the girls tickets for the concert that Sammy J was going to perform at. So we stayed for it, it was a lot of waiting around cause the concert started at 6pm. It was just Me, and my babies, Sheris, Hayden and DJ. Luckily I saw the twins Chantel, and Channel they were there for the concert. I asked them if they could help us with the Powhiri and they said yes. When we were backstage waiting Leila was excited to see the guy off of the show 'The Skin Walkers' which was on Netflix her and Erana would watch it with Jay. I took photos and filmed to show Jay. Turns out he's the Mayor lol We did an awesome powhiri for him and then he was given a 'Taiaha' from our Hiona group which was cool'az. We took photos with him. Then I came home and my babies stayed for the concert and DJ brought them home.
Wednesday September 6th, my babies and I went to Bountiful for Jenni Atkinson's 70th. Had a lovely time eating yummy food and catching up with Lee Marie Moleni, her eldest Ariana is getting married. Mostly the people from Hiona I knew. Party was at Celeste's home, Jenni's sister, her home was in a beautiful neighborhood, mansion.
Thursday September 7th, Wiramina and Tane went to Vegas with Tyrell and Alisa and others... to celebrate her birthday and go to the Ed Sheran concert. But due to weather it got cancelled. I had an attendance council mtg for work at the District bldg. kinda didn't want to join but I did, good thing is I get paid for it. I didn't talk cause i fee inadequate in my speech and didn't have anything to say anyways.
Saturday 9th, went to Jared's to have a feed and celebrate his birthday. Jodi & Moni, Scott & Heather, Rob & Candace, James & Moana, Fisi Moleni, Romaine Marshall, us and our kids. Jared had it catered from a friends Poly takeout place, it was yummy.
Sunday 17th, our 29th Anniversary. Jay had booked us a room at the Anniversary Inn, in Logan. We went in the afternoon after church. Our room was 'The Oriental' room. We ordered chicken nuggets, artichoke dip and meatballs, it was meh lol I think if we got take out before would of been better. Our last chicken strips snack was better. We had a lovely time together, we had a yummy breakfast too, I ordered an extra entre, breakfast is always yummy:) 29 wonderful years with my JBean - love him!
Cynthia Smith, had asked me to teach a Relief Society lesson this month on the 24th. I was reluctant to say yes, but I did anyways. I've been stressing and loosing sleep over it. 'Followers of the Prince of Peace', by Elder Ulisses Soares was my topic. I listened to other podcast, and looked at other people's teaching ideas on the internet. I also got my babies to sing 'Peace in Christ', accompanied by Jodee Barham. My Savior helped me and said as long as I'm prepared it will be ok:) Long story short came down to the day, I worrying for nothing cause I had over prepared 6 quotes and only barely made it through the 3rd quote. My babies did an awesome job at singing, Erana's low voice was a surprise. I kinda had 30 minutes of class time, and I had a lot of ladies that shared their thoughts and stories with the class. After it was done, it was a relief but I obsessed for a couple of days about the silly things I said. Sis Cooper sent me a text message complimenting me on my talk and it made me feel better and instantly my regrets were gone.
Friday 29th, I didn't have work and Jay and I went to the temple. I took a name that I got from my familytree app the name was Mrs. Tuwhakahorongaoterangi .... bit of a mouth full, too hard for the temple workers lol It was my JBeans 52nd Birthday today. After a nice time in the temple we stopped at the Asian Market and I got a few things for sunday dinner. We went home and changed and then I drove us downtown for lunch at 'Tucanos'. It didn't seem like I ate a lot but I got full easily, their meat was not bloody enough for me. We got the butter mango cake again, it was delicious! Then we sat out side for a bit and Jay watched his rugby on his phone. We then walked around Gateway. I heard a baby crying and I peeked in the window and saw a baby crying cause he was fustrated he couldn't put his shoe back on. I tapped on the window and he looked at me and stopped cyring. He was a cute asian baby, looked like my JBean when he was a baby with chingier eyes lol I tried to play Peek A Boo with him to see if he'd smile or laugh but he didn't, another pakeha baby came over and he smiled at me. Then Jay came and got me.
Hiona Dine and Dance was tonight as well. Jay and I and our babies went. I didn't eat too much cause I ate a lot at Tucanos. I had pavalova and fruit. I had made shrimp with cabbage and carrots though. Ollie Wolferstan was there with Imogen, Jake and baby Lyla. I snatched baby Lyla up she was so cute and cuddly and sleepy. I had her most of the time she was there. Aunty Raihi and Aunty Luana came, Aunty Raihi walked so slowly over to Jay to say hello to him :( poor Aunty getting old;( Danced a lot with my JBean and our babies the younger kids were in a huge circle for kids to dance in. DJ was a crack up doing silly dance moves, that I kept missing on my video. We snuck out before it finished.
